Admissions

Broadmayne First School warmly welcomes applications for places at the school.  As a Local Authority maintained school, Dorset Council acts as the admission authority responsible for admission decisions in connection with Broadmayne.

Applying for a Reception Place to Start in 2025

Apply online here.

You can apply for a reception place from 1 September 2024.

The closing date for applications is the 15th January 2025.  Any application or change made after this date will be classed as late and will not be considered until after the on-time round.

You will know the outcome:

  • on 16th April 2025 if you applied on time (by 15th January 2025) 
  • on 12th May 2025 if you apply late (between 15th January and 16th April 2025) 
  • from June onwards if you apply after 16th April 2025


If you applied online by 15th January 2025 you can log into your online account to view the result of your application.  You will also receive an email later in the day with your offer letter.

The Local Authority acts on behalf of the school for all appeals regarding admissions.

Further Information

Further information about applying to a school in Dorset can be found on Dorset Council’s ‘Apply for a school place’ page.

Dorset School Admission Arrangements: 

Dorset are running the annual consultation on the School Admission Arrangements for 2026/2027 with effect from Monday 11th November 2024 to Friday 20th December 2024

Alongside, they are also running consultations regarding the reductions in PAN at the following schools: 

Hazelbury Bryan Primary: from 17 to 15 

Gillingham School: from 280 to 270. 

Details of the consultations will be available to view at https://consultation.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/c-e/aaarangements/

Responses must be submitted either in writing to the School Admissions Team, Dorset Council, County Hall, Dorchester, DT1 1XJ or by email to schoolorganisation@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk by Friday 20th December 2024. 

Upon the conclusion of the consultation period all responses will be considered carefully and a report will be presented to Dorset Council's Cabinet meeting on Tuesday 25th February 2025.

The key dates for the annual school arrangements consultatiion are set out below: 

Dorset LA consultation begins:  11th November 2024

Local LA consultation ends:  20th December 2024 

Own Admission Authorities (including Dorset LA) determine 2026-2027 Admission Arrangements by: 28th February 2025. 

Own Admission Authorities (including Dorset LA) publish 2026-2027 Admission Arrangements by: 15th March 2025. 

Own Admission Authorities to send a copy of their 2026-2027 Admission Arrangements to Dorset Council by:

Deadline for Objections to Office of the School Adjudicator 15th May 2025
