The children took part in a variety of activities during this week to celebrate our love of books.
On Tuesday, we all tasted different breakfasts from around the world and we enjoyed stories with a multicultural theme. We sampled croissants, jam, cheese, olives, flatbread, chutney, melon and mango. Some of us really didn't like the taste of olives!! But we did try it.
The exciting day ended with a 'Stories At Bedtime' session. We all came to school dressed in our pyjamas, listened to a story, then we had hot chocolate and a biscuit.
On Thursday everyone, including staff, came to school dressed as our favourite book character. There were lots of 'Harry Potter' look-a-likes! During the morning we all had a 'Read with a Friend' session where a friend read a story to us. We loved having our adults in our classroom. A reading workshop followed for parents.
The week ended with an Extreme Reading Competition where we had to read in an unusual place and have our picture taken.
